The Codependancy that Yashahime Banks On with it’s Nostalgic Predecessor is The Only thing That Makes it Watchable. OH, and for Those that Ship a Demon with his Child Bride. (This is a rant and I’m not sorry)

Now the following article is my strongly worded personal take and review on the Yashahime anime, so no hard feelings if you don’t feel the same way. Now, with that out of the way:

Yashahime’s announcement caused a mighty stir among fans new and old, so much so that everyone was suddenly binging on the old InuYasha series–myself included– to prepare for what everyone hoped would be an epic sequel to an iconic anime series.

But well, I’ve seen through the first cour of the anime that premiered in the fall season of 2020–and it’s just left us hanging for the most part in disbelief and confusion.

My god, is there SO much confusion! I can tell they tried to aim for the trademarked storytelling style Takahashi sensei is known for–but fell through as a cheap imitation. The animation is alright.. though I have an issue with how youthful the characters look. I wanted to see the passage of time; but I can give it a slight pass due to the fact that they cast was originally very young. (Kagome was 14-15 years old for example)
